sunday song drawings
Jan 1st I decided to start a little musical drawing series.
Every Sunday til April I’ll be sharing a drawing I do in one sitting while listening to a local artist’s music. No erasers, no colour, just contour line streams of consciousness flowing from whatever song sucks me in. This is an effort to draw attention to local artists I think are great as well as tone my attempts to shift between image & song, hopefully adding something to the experience of both.
Music can be so gluttonously consumed these days & I myself gobble things down without chewing; so this helps me take in more of what the artist has spent much time crafting, too. Here’s the first 7 drawings, and do give the songs a good listen. . .
I’ll post the rest on my instagram @bremcdaniel

Da da da da.. tour! Stoked to head for the woods with Stephanie Ratcliff. Although it’s not even technically northern BC because this province is ginormous with a capital gi. But still, up north we go.
All the concert info is —-> here <—-
Especially excited to camp, and play in Prince George in a barn, with a ton of fresh bannock, pie and smoked salmon, and Cheryl Bear as our special guest.

Tears of St Lawrence Mountain-Top Meteor Shower Gathering
The Tears of St Lawrence meteor shower happens every mid August, and I want more people to hear about it and head out into the night air. I’ve never seen it from a mountain top, so I thought I’d organize a gathering, and sing a few tunes about stars.
I’ve had this event in mind for a while… to host a concert outside away from light pollution, and use my songs as an excuse to physically bring people into and experience of these ideas and images that have inspired me musically. To have the main thing to be about being in the night air hushed by what we see, hearing the flattened crowd’s oohs and aahs.
How about a short talk by an astrophysicist too. K.
More details here.
Tour Doc
June 3rd we will be holding a screening of our short film that we made as a travelling entourage of artists, sharing stories and patterns that unfolded along the way.
Come on out to The Cotton Club for a backyard bedsheet projector screen viewing, we’ll make popcorn & crumble — bring your own drinks, blankets, and we’ll play a few tunes together too.
More info here.
Tour Announcement !!
I am so excited to announce that I am heading off on tour with Jenny Banai ! It is her first tour too, in support of her debut full length, Flowering Head.
We are travelling with Joshes Photography, who will be filming and capturing stories along the way. He took all these photos right by Jenny’s house. He’s crazy about Canada & is going to show us some wild places he’s scouted.
Our final member of our travelling tribe is a painter, Christopher Siemens of Again Visual Art. He’s been honing in on his Canadian landscapes in oil and will be showing and making work along the way. I can’t think of a dreamier way to start this touring thing. I will also be selling some artwork, zines, and making a new drawing zine along the way.
The details on all our shows can be found HERE.
Come say hi if you live anywhere near by….. & come hear some stories by the fire at our last show — Field House Brewing in the valley.
Light Pollution EP Release Show

March tour dates to be announced soooooon!
Mint + Moss Logo Design
I had the pleasure of doing the logo for Mint + Moss Floral design. A boutique florist based in Abbotsford, BC & loves using more wild and foraged elements. She loves fairy forests, & I’m mad about celtic things so it was a sweet spot of a match.
Check out her beautiful work here, and follow her instagram @mint.and.moss
Jenny Banai CD Release
Here’s a video that really captures Jenny’s beautiful backyard CD release show…..now a favourite autumn memory.
I got to do her cd + vinyl design and open for her at the release, & being asked to do things I’ve wanted to do for a long time feels really good.. especially with people that have such a gracious way of working/being.
You can have a listen to her full album here:
