Tears of St Lawrence Single
psssst….August 14th is a new moon, and it’s the best night to see the Tears of St Lawrence meteor shower. It’s also my birthday. It’s also the day I’m giving away the first single off my upcoming EP, Light Pollution.
I would really like it if you took home the song as a gift, and then drove far away from the city and counted shooting stars while listening to it for the first time.
More details coming soon . . .
Thank you !!!
The night before I launched my fundraiser I felt this nudge to put the goal to what I didn’t believe was possible, way higher than what I originally planned. I felt ridiculous asking so much, even though I needed it, and didn’t have a plan B..
I’ve received so much help during this process and I really hope for the opportunity to help others in similar ways. Thank you for blowing my expectations away with your generosity– I was so in shock–I know hard earned money could be spent a million other ways, and I’m taking this experience of community support into the studio.
My first day recording is June 16th, can’t wait !

CD Art and Design
I had the privilege of doing the CD Art and Design for Stephanie Ratcliff’s debut album released April 18th.
Here’s the inside with little notebook of lyrics which was surprisingly painful to format:
I also got to sing back up vocals on the recording and perform with her band for the release show, which was a pretty great time. You can have a listen here:
House Concert
Here’s some photography by Jared Korb from my house concert/art sale fundraiserama in March.
Pink house + musicians + art + 70 bodies + beer = good times & successful fundraiser.
Thank you every one !!
House Concert and Art Sale and Recording!
I’ve been dreaming, scheming and working away for quite some time, and now I’d like to show you a few of these things.
Plans are in the works to record a new collection of songs in the coming months that I’m really excited about. I can’t do that by myself, and I don’t want to do it for myself; so I’m inviting you in…
The evening is going to be coffee house style with lots of things my hands made for sale to help fund the recording, as well as performances throughout the evening by some local artists I like a lot — everything from delta blues, to folk to hip hop and spoken word.
The location is a really pink house off heatley and pender.
Can’t wait.

Sketching Azaadi
Something I love to do now and then is sketch other musicians and artists.
Here’s a few I did at an event I went to this week called My Sister’s Echoes, put on by Azaadi (Azaadi means freedom in Punjaabi).
There’s some real beauty in this city; people so desirous of coming together for greater understanding and concrete change across cultural and economic difference.
It was an evening of art, dialogue and spoken word honouring marginalized women that are rising up from political and cultural oppression. Amazing artists/activists spoke so vulnerably, and many young people present and leading. Sixteen year olds next to me kept asking about my drawings.
